Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Coding Education Specialist to design, develop, and deliver coding quality and education across Professional Billing. You will work with practice leadership, IT, revenue cycle teams, and clinicians to implement education strategies and improve performance.

The role requires CCS/CCS-P or CPC-Credential, a Bachelor’s degree, and three years of experience in E/M or surgical coding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), CCS-P, CPC or CPC-H credential required.
• Three years of experience in E/M and/or surgical coding with reimbursement focus.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic coding education plans with target audiences and needs.
• Create content-specific, competency-based training deliverables.
• Produce presentations, handbooks, and training materials.
• Lead training sessions on current billing and coding information.
• Mentor physicians and provide feedback to vendors on findings.
• Advise Physician Group and Revenue Cycle staff on coding principles.
• Deliver training across leadership and end-users via multiple formats.
• Maintain and update coding training materials; respond to questions.
• Perform chart audits and ensure confidentiality of information.
