Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a MedicalRecordsCoding Coordinator for the St Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. You will review medical records, assign ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS codes, and ensure accurate entry into the health information system to support revenue cycle reporting and regulatory needs.

Requirements include CCS/RHIT/RHIA credentials and at least 3 years of acute care coding experience. This full-time role offers a days shift with no weekends, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• CCS/RHIT/RHIA certification required
• Minimum 3 years experience coding/abstracting in acute care
• Experience with ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS coding
• Strong computer and data entry skills
• Knowledge of encoder software preferred
• Excellent communication with hospital departments and coding team

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze medical records to assign ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS codes for all service types
• Enter and validate coded and abstracted patient information in the EHR system
• Ensure coding is accurate and timely per regulations and guidelines
• Collaborate with departments, corporate teams and vendors to support coding and charge-entry
• Identify and help resolve DNFB drivers and documentation gaps
