Job summary

UMMC seeks a Compliance Educator within the Office of Integrity & Compliance to develop, coordinate, implement, and manage education initiatives. The role delivers extensive training on medical coding (ICD-10, CPT, CDT, HCPCS), billing, and documentation, serving as a subject matter expert on CMS, federal and state regulations and third-party requirements.

Responsibilities include creating materials, conducting training sessions, and collaborating with management to expand educational programs

Qualifications

• Degree (Bachelor's or Associate's) and at least 3 years of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, or related billing experience.
• Experience with medical coding, billing guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop educational materials for individual, departmental, and institutional needs.
• Coordinate and oversee institutional compliance training.
• Coordinate, implement, and oversee new employee compliance training.
• Conduct training sessions to educate billing providers on coding, billing, and documentation guidelines.
• Conduct training sessions to educate workforce members on deficiencies identified in compliance program auditing and monitoring activities.
• Conduct training sessions to educate workforce members on research compliance and conflicts of interest.
• Collaborate with management to identify other educational opportunities.
• Prepare, coordinate, implement, and oversee other educational endeavors as may arise.
