Job summary

CareSouth Carolina is seeking a qualified Medical Coder to accurately capture CPT, ICD-10, and G-Codes for services rendered in our Society Hill, SC location. You will review the EHR to ensure all charges are correct and compliant with HIPAA and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities include translating sno-med codes, entering charges, and maintaining confidentiality while delivering high-quality coding for revenue integrity and patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of experience as a certified coder preferred; FQHC billing/coding preferred but not required.
• AAPC-certified coder preferred; if not certified, certification within 6 months to maintain employment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with diverse constituencies.
• Ability to work independently and handle problems with several variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients and employees respectfully and in line with CareSouth Carolina's mission and values.
• Coding and Charge Entry: Enter CPT and ICD-10 codes and translate sno-med codes into proper CPT codes.
• Review the Electronic Health Record to ensure all relevant codes and charges are captured.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance; follow accreditation standards.
