Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a Coder to review, abstract and assign CPT/HCPC and ICD-10 codes for clinic visits and hospital services. The role supports the Revenue Cycle team and collaborates with providers, practice managers and the COO to ensure timely, compliant billing.

The ideal candidate has a coding/billing certification and 3+ years of medical billing experience, with strong Excel skills and excellent communication across staff levels.

Qualifications

• Three years of medical billing experience preferred.
• Certification from an accredited coding/billing program; must be certified on hire or within 3 months.
• Proficient with Excel and basic office software.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Apply CPT/HCPC and ICD codes using encoder software for claims.
• Review and resolve rejected/denied or unpaid claims using submission tools.
• Flag trends or issues impacting timely coding and billing to management.
• Serve as a billing/coding consultant to practice staff.
• Maintain coding credentials and complete CEUs to stay current.
• Research unpaid claims and submit appeals when needed.
• Investigate and resolve credit balances.
