Responsibilities include reviewing documentation, verifying data for charge entry, and collaborating with the Billing Department to improve accuracy and reimbursement outcomes across East Tennessee.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience coding ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 for physician services or completion of a recognized billing/coding course.
• Experience with coding guidelines and billing compliance.
• Ability to verify data in medical records for charge entry and documentation accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to determine ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding for billing compliance.
• Verify data for charge entry and ensure accuracy of coded information.
• Assist providers with proper code selection and coding questions.
• Edit unbilled claim transmissions to ensure timely billing.
• Participate in quality coding and audit reviews.
• Liaise with physicians for clarification and medical necessity.
• Collaborate with the Billing Department to support timely reimbursement.
