Job summary

Santa Clara Valley Healthcare is seeking a Coder II to perform moderately complex coding and abstracting across outpatient and inpatient records. You may work at different sites, following SCVHHS policies and federal/state guidelines.

Applicants must attach proof of a valid medical coding certificate and have about two years of coding experience, with familiarity in ICD-9-CM, CPT-4, HCPCS, and medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Proof of a valid medical coding certificate is required.
• Two years of experience as a medical coder in outpatient and/or inpatient settings.
• Knowledge of ICD-9-CM, CPT-4, and HCPCS coding and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Code and abstract medical records across outpatient and inpatient services.
• Review provider charges and support coding accuracy.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and communicate with clinical staff.
• Participate in coding policy adherence and continuing education.
