Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review, abstract, and code medical-record data using ICD-9-CM, CPT-4, and HCPCS.
• Provide CPT and ICD-9 codes to units and staff when required.
• Record coding information into charge systems and electronic files.
• Identify appropriate diagnoses and procedure codes for medical records.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and ensure accurate, compliant coding.
