Job summary

Pomona-Valley-Hospital-Medical-Center seeks a qualified medical coder with at least 2 years’ inpatient and outpatient coding in an acute care setting. Responsible for review and evaluation of medical records to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes for optimal reimbursement and regulatory compliance.

Requires high school diploma or equivalent, CCS/RHIT/RHIA credentials, and experience. Preferred: Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management and 5 years of coding

Qualifications

• Must have at least two (2) years of coding inpatient and/or outpatient cases in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate medical records to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and optimal reimbursement.
• Abstract data elements for internal operations and regulatory reporting.
