Job summary

WellSky is seeking a Medical Coder - Home Health to provide accurate ICD-10-CM coding support for assigned agencies in accordance with OASIS guidelines. The role focuses on reviewing documentation, assigning codes, and ensuring compliant billing for our client agencies.

The ideal candidate will hold a GED or higher, have 1-2 years of relevant experience, and be Coding Certified (HCS-D or BCHH-C). Preferred experience includes OASIS and hospice settings, with flexibility on hours.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Make accurate ICD-10-CM code assignments.
• Review OASIS and assign accurate codes supported by the documentation.
• Identify viable primary diagnosis and procedures as well as pertinent secondary ones.
• Adhere to coding compliance regulations and internal policies for accurate billing.
• Review, interpret, and recommend plan of care corrections as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Medical Coder - Home Health is responsible for providing medical coding support to assigned agencies. The scope of this job includes accurate assignment of billing codes that are supported by documentation and compliant with all OASIS standards and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Make accurate ICD-10-CM code assignments.
• Review OASIS (Outcome and Assessment Information Set) and assign accurate codes supported by the documentation.
• Identify viable primary diagnosis and procedures as well as pertinent secondary diagnosis and procedures.
• Adhere to coding compliance regulations and internal policies to ensure accurate billing for our client agencies.
• Review, interpret, and recommend a plan of care corrections as needed.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

Required qualifications

• 1-2 of Relevant Work Experience
• Coding Certified (HCS-D or BCHH-C)
