Job summary

GI Associates is seeking a full-time Medical Coder to join our growing team in Wausau, Wisconsin. This on-site position supports accurate coding for professional and ASC services, reviews clinical documentation, and ensures codes reflect current payer and regulatory guidelines.

You'll assign CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10-CM codes, verify units and modifiers, and collaborate with providers to improve accuracy. Training is provided, and the team values precision and integrity.

Qualifications

• Professional or ambulatory coding experience preferred.
• Advanced training/certification in billing, coding and insurance required, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10-CM.
• Experience with ASC coding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review documentation and assign CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10-CM codes.
• Verify units of service, place of service, modifiers, and attachments.
• Ensure diagnoses follow ICD-10-CM guidelines and payer policies.
• Keep up-to-date with billing and coding rules and regulations.
• Provide training to new staff/providers on coding and documentation.
