Qualifications

• Home Health coding and OASIS review experience: 1 year.

• Some computer experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured and in good working order.

Responsibilities

• Code and complete OASIS with accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain knowledge of CMS Home Health regulations including OASIS, coding and Plan of Care requirements.
• Utilize EMR systems and Microsoft Office for documentation and communication.
• Draft clear, concise coding and documentation for reviewers and QA.

Reports to: Director of QA

Position Summary:

Experienced OASIS/Coding Specialist: Certified in Home Health Care Oasis coding.

The Medical Coder will focus on coding and OASIS completion accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

• Extensive knowledge of CMS Home Health regulations including OASIS, coding and Plan of Care requirements
• Advanced computer skills with experience with one or more of Electronic Medical Record solutions
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Strong quantitative and analytic skills
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing working environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills, and an aggressive approach to excellence
