Job summary

Encova Insurance is seeking a Medical Bill Adjuster to research, audit, and process medical bills for payment across all locations we operate. The role requires the ability to verify coding, services, and prior approvals with accuracy.

The ideal candidate has a background in medical billing or coding, at least three years of experience, and a certification from AAPC or AHIMA is strongly preferred. A Bachelor's or Associate degree is favored, with a hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; commensurate experience may be considered.
• Minimum of three years in medical coding or medical bill processing required.
• Certification in medical coding (AAPC or AHIMA) strongly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Extensive knowledge of medical billing, ICD-10, CPT-4, DRG and HCPCS.

Responsibilities

• Process medical invoices based on a pre-determined quota.
• Audit and process inpatient hospital bills and higher-dollar claims.
• Research medical records to determine appropriate coding.
• Discuss billing matters with providers, claimants, and customers.
• Prepare reports and analyze data related to vendor reviews.
• Identify training needs and participate in system testing as needed.
