Job summary

Pride Health is seeking a medical billing specialist for a 13-week contract in New York. You will review patient accounts, submit claims, and manage denials, while coordinating with other departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments.

The position emphasizes accurate claim edits, timely follow-ups, and clear communication with payers and patients. Experience with Epic or other insurance billing systems is preferred, and a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Medical billing / backend billing experience.
• Experience with billing edits, claims processing & denial management.
• Experience with Epic and/or insurance billing systems.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required (minimum).
• Must be available for an in-person interview.

Responsibilities

• Review patient accounts and correct billing/claim edits.
• Prepare and submit paper & electronic claims.
• Process rejections, denials, and insurance correspondence.
• Handle insurance billing, follow-ups, and claim resolution.
• Process pre-authorizations and document responses.
• Audit patient accounts and apply adjustments as needed.
• Post payments and process patient statements.
• Follow up on past-due patient and insurance accounts.
• Provide billing-related customer service and document interactions.
• Work with other departments to resolve billing issues.
