Qualifications

• Experience in Out of Network Billing: 1 year.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer a degree or certification in medical billing or related.
• Familiar with medical terminology and coding (ICD-10, CPT).
• Proficient in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR).
• Experience with TELCOR is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, providers, etc.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing regulations and compliance standards.
• Problem-solving skills to resolve billing discrepancies and denials.

Responsibilities

• Generate and electronically submit claims and statements at designated intervals ensuring they are processed in a timely manner.
• Correct errors for complete and accurate transmission of data; monitor status of submitted claims; follow up with insurers to resolve discrepancies or denials; resubmit claims as needed.
• Record payments received from insurance companies, patients, or other sources and apply them to the appropriate accounts.
• Research and process refund requests and overpayments.
• Perform additional duties including copying checks and recording payments, faxing information as required, and verifying insurance eligibility.
