Addison Group is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist in North Chicago, IL, to support the full medical billing process in a healthcare setting. This role requires experience with claims processing, denials follow-up, and patient communication, with an emphasis on accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The position features a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 remote after training) and a competitive hourly pay between $18.88 and $22.50, dependent on experience.

Qualifications

• Previous medical billing experience preferred.
• Medical Billing and Coding certification is preferred but not required.
• Experience with Podiatry, Physical Therapy, Behavioral Health, or OB/GYN billing is a strong plus.

Responsabilités

• Review patient accounts and insurance information to ensure claims are accurate and ready for submission.
• Prepare and process medical claims while identifying missing or incorrect information.
• Communicate with providers and internal departments to obtain documentation needed to complete or correct claims.
• Investigate denied and rejected claims and determine appropriate next steps for resolution.
• Make necessary claim updates, corrections, and follow-up to help ensure timely reimbursement.

Job Title: Medical Billing Specialist

Pay: $18.88 – $22.50 / hour, based on experience. Candidates with extensive specialty billing experience may be considered at a higher rate.

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7.5 hour workday with a 30 - minute unpaid lunch. Flexible start time between 8:00 – 9:00 AM. Hybrid schedule of 3 days in office and 2 days remote after approximately one month of training.

Job Description
