Job summary

Bayview Physicians Group in Chesapeake, VA, is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller - Payor Account Representative to join a collaborative team dedicated to accurate patient billing and superior service.

The role handles claims submission, follow-ups, appeals, and refunds while assisting patients with billing questions. Experience in medical billing and EMR knowledge are preferred; training is provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with computers and standard office equipment.
• Medical billing certification or 1 year healthcare experience.
• Knowledge of eCW EMR a plus, but willingness to train.

Responsibilities

• Submit, track, and follow up on insurance claims.
• Resolve unpaid, denied, or rejected claims.
• File appeals and process refunds when appropriate.
• Assist patients with billing and insurance questions.
• Maintain knowledge of insurance policies and billing procedures.
• Work claim edits, validations, and clearinghouse issues.
• Maintain confidentiality and compliance standards.
• Support team workflow and complete additional duties as assigned.
