Job summary

Sierra Vista Hospital, part of the UHS Family of Providers in Northern California, is seeking a Full-time Patient Account Representative for our Business Office Team. You will handle electronic and manual billings, statements, and follow up with payers and patients on outstanding balances.

Role emphasizes attention to detail, accuracy in cash receipts, and maintaining insurance logs, with opportunities for growth within UHS’ extensive network.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years prior collections experience in hospital setting recommended; psychiatric experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal skills; ability to deal effectively with all levels of hospital management and the public.
• Knowledge of third-party payment procedures, managed care and government programs strongly recommended.
• Good communication skills and ability to problem solve a must.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit insurance billings to primary and secondary payers.
• Transmit all billings to third-party payers, either manually or electronically as requested.
• Provide assistance in contacting third-party payers at a 30-day interval after billing to assure that bills have been received and are being processed.
