Job summary

Sierra Vista Hospital in Sacramento seeks a Full-time Patient Account Representative to join our Business Office Team. You will manage electronic and manual billings, follow up with third-party payers and patients for outstanding balances, and prepare daily cash receipts.

Two years of hospital billing/collections experience is recommended, with strong written and verbal communication and basic math skills essential to maintain insurance logs and ensure accurate statements.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years prior collections experience in hospital setting recommended; psychiatric experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal skills; ability to deal effectively with all levels of hospital management and the public.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit insurance billings to primary and secondary payers.
• Transmit all billings to third-party payers, either manually or electronically as requested.
• Provide assistance in contacting third-party payers at a 30-day interval after billing to ensure bills are received and being processed.
• Prepare daily cash receipts and maintain insurance logs.
