Universal Health Services is seeking a Staff Accountant for Sierra Vista Hospital in Sacramento, a 171-bed psychiatric care facility. The role focuses on payroll processing, accounts payable, and month-end journal entries, with potential HR support.

Candidates should have at least two years of AP/payroll experience, basic PC skills, and familiarity with payroll systems and MS Office. Some overtime and flexible hours may be needed.

Qualifikationen

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• A minimum of two (2) years of accounts payable/payroll experience, preferably in a health care setting, with a working knowledge of personal computers, payroll/accounts payable systems, MS Office or any combination of education, training or experience in a business office environment.
• May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.

Aufgaben

• Ensure the accurate processing of all employee payroll-related functions.
• Process bi-weekly payroll in an accurate and timely fashion.
• Receive time sheets from departments, audit for accuracy, and input time into the payroll system.
• Maintain accurate records of all holiday, vacation and sick time (PTOs) to determine if time off has been earned.
• Verify payroll reports prior to the run of the bi-weekly payroll run.
• Print bi-weekly payroll checks and audit for accuracy prior to distribution.
• Prepare all payroll tax deposits each month.
• Respond quickly to all payroll-related problems.
• Maintain accounts payable system to ensure that all vendors are paid in accordance with the terms stated on invoices.

• Ensure invoices are entered in an appropriate journal and/or on the Accounts Payable System.
• Reconcile vendor statements.
• Balance accounts payable check register and print cash disbursement when checks are printed or manual checks are entered.
• Maintain organized and methodical filing system on all accounts payable documentation.
• Prepare appropriate accounts payable reports on a timely basis and as requested.
• Ensure the confidentiality of employee records, and utilize good judgment in maintaining all employee information.
• Complete a variety of clerical projects as assigned.
• Adhere to facility, department, corporate and standard policies and procedures.
