Qualifications

• Experience in medical billing, insurance verification, or revenue cycle preferred.
• Strong communication skills to explain benefits to patients.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Familiarity with EMRs and billing/claims systems.
• Ability to resolve insurance issues and escalate as needed.

Responsibilities

• Review the schedule at least one week in advance to verify insurance for all new patients.
• Update billing alerts in the EMR and coordinate with scheduling partners for incoming patients.
• Contact patients to review benefits and explain financial responsibilities.
• Update co-payments and insurance-related data for major medical patients.
• Assist with NSA (No Surprises Act) claims documentation.
• Support billing queries by updating logs and processing claims.
• Follow up on major medical claims requiring reprocessing.
• Assist billing with insurance questions and claim escalations.
• Manage claims marked paid to patient, updating statuses and researching payments.
