Job summary

Doctors On Duty in Monterey, CA is seeking a Medical Billing Accounts Research Specialist for a full-time clerical role. You will research denials, resolve COB and insurance issues, handle credits, and document all actions in the PMS while communicating with patients, insurers, and providers.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or Equivalent, at least 2 years in medical billing/accounts receivable, and beneficial certifications in Medical Billing and Coding.

Qualifications

• Understand basic coding to work coding denials.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and written.
• Maintain confidentiality and productivity.
• Prioritize workload to meet company needs.
• Work independently and solve problems efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Research and resolve all types of denials, including COB, eligibility, coding, and billing.
• Appeal denials and notify third parties for reconsideration of claims.
• Document actions in the practice management system for each account.
• Identify denial trends by payer, provider, and code.
• Ensure secondary claims are filed with proper EOB attachments.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

2+ years experience in medical field/accounts receivable
