Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year accounting/clerical experience preferred.
• 6 months processing insurance claims preferred.
• 1 year customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with computers, word processing, and Excel preferred.
• 6 months billing or cash posting to accounts receivable preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit compliant medical claims through approved billing and EDI systems.
• Verify patient demographics, insurance, coding, and supporting documentation before submission.
• Collaborate with internal departments to obtain missing/correct information for claim completion.
• Monitor submitted claims, identify delays, and resolve reimbursement issues.
• Review and correct denied/rejected claims and resubmit within payer timelines.
• Maintain documentation of billing activities and communications in the billing system.
• Identify patterns in payer denials or workflow issues and notify leadership.
• Assist with internal audits and quality improvement in billing accuracy and compliance.
• Stay current on billing regulations and payer requirements.
