Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Work Experience: Two years in healthcare insurance authorizations OR two years in clinical healthcare with CPT/ICD-10.
• Licensure: None; Certification: None.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to manage multiple screens in a call center.
• Understanding CPT and ICD-10 codes; intermediate medical terminology and health insurance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance benefits for customers and determine pre-certification needs.
• Notify patients of deductibles and coinsurance requirements.
• Follow up with insurers on authorization status via calls or emails.
• Process referrals and submit records to carriers to expedite prior authorizations.
• Maintain confidential health information per HIPAA and Florida statutes.
• Communicate with insurance providers, physicians, and patients and document contacts.
