Job summary

Health First is seeking an Authorization Specialist in Florida to verify insurance eligibility, secure pre-certifications, and obtain necessary authorizations for outpatient and ancillary services.

The role requires CPT/ICD-10 knowledge, experience in healthcare insurance authorizations, and proficiency with Microsoft Office within a call-center environment. Confidentiality and accurate documentation are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years’ healthcare insurance authorizations OR two (2) years’ in clinical healthcare with CPT/ICD-10 codes.
• No licensure or certification required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
• Ability to operate with multiple screens in a call center environment; strong CPT/ICD-10 knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance benefits and eligibility.
• Notify patients of deductibles and co-insurance.
• Follow up with insurance companies on authorization status.
• Process referrals and submit records for prior authorization.
• Maintain documentation and HIPAA compliance.
