Job summary

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute is seeking an Authorization Coordinator to review and coordinate the authorization process for services per payer guidelines. You will track and document all authorizations electronically and handle communications related to authorization activity.

The role requires 2+ years in obtaining insurance authorizations in a medical setting, proficiency with MS Office, and a valid driver’s license for travel to satellite offices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Two or more years’ experience in obtaining insurance authorizations in a medical setting, and/or other relevant clerical or case management work.

Responsibilities

• Review and coordinate the authorization process for services that require payer authorization.
• Coordinate, track and document all authorizations electronically.
• Manage oral and/or written communication related to authorization activity as appropriate.
• Provide coverage for schedules and pending cases for all payer groups; understand various payer guidelines and adapt to all groups.
