Connecticut State Community College (CT State) Norwalk campus seeks an Assistant Professor, Program Coordinator to teach and coordinate the Medical Assisting program. The role involves designing syllabi, mentoring students, and engaging with external partners while delivering courses in lecture, hybrid, or on-site formats.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s in Allied Health (Master’s preferred), and have teaching and medical assisting experience, plus strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Allied Health or related field.
• Credentialed as a Medical Assistant by NCCA, ANSI, or ISO.
• Two years college teaching experience (48+ credits).
• Two years professional experience in medical assisting.

Responsibilities

• Teach 30 credit hours per academic year; courses may be lecture, hybrid, or online.
• Respond to students, peers, and external agencies; manage communications.
• Develop curriculum and update instructional materials; participate in program reviews.
• Assist with program reviews and accreditation-related activities.
• Plan and execute program-related events; attend workshops and conferences.
• Recruit, advise, and retain students; schedule courses; hire and evaluate faculty.
• Establish partnerships with local organizations and employers; arrange internships.
