Job summary

West Coast Wound and Skin Care is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our field-based wound care team. This role involves traveling to patient homes to deliver hands-on clinical support under the direction of our supervising providers.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, clinically competent, and passionate about delivering high-quality patient care in a mobile setting. Schedule is Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm; pay is $22/hr; benefits include 401(k), health, dental, vision, and PTO.

Qualifications

• Valid Medical Assistant certification is required.
• 1–2 years of clinical or medical experience preferred.
• Experience in home health or mobile care is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work independently while following clinical protocols.
• Ability to document clinical findings accurately.

Responsibilities

• Provide field-based clinical support to patients in homes.
• Prepare patients and assist providers during visits.
• Scribe for physicians and document findings.
• Manage patient charts and monitor progress.
• Coordinate scheduling and patient visits.
• Perform initial assessment calls with new patients.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform delegated clinical tasks and patient care duties in a field-based setting
• Prepare patients for procedures and assist providers during visits
• Scribe for physicians and document clinical findings accurately
• Perform chart checks to monitor and evaluate patient progress
• Coordinate and assist with patient scheduling and visits
• Conduct initial assessment calls with new patients
• Order and manage medical supplies and equipment inventory
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and patient privacy standards at all times
• Communicate effectively with providers, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Valid Medical Assistant (MA) Certification required
• 1-2 years of clinical or medical experience preferred
• Experience in home health, mobile healthcare, or field-based roles a plus
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while following clinical protocols
• Basic computer proficiency for electronic documentation
• Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation required
