This role supports providers and nursing staff in delivering timely, quality patient healthcare. Responsibilities include assisting with patient rooming, managing patient flow, administering medications, and communicating with patients.

Principle Responsibilities

1. Room patients, manage patient flow, and obtain adequate medical information/data:

• Confirm information with patients and document accordingly.
• Collect patient data via interviews, questionnaires, vital signs, and document in EMR.
• Assist with specimen collection, labeling, and processing.
• Facilitate lab/imaging results and notify providers of abnormalities.
• Respond to messages in EMR inbox as delegated.
• Assist at front desk and support patient registration/scheduling as needed.

Perform patient care tasks delegated by Provider or RN:

• Administer injections.
• Assist with procedures.
• Provide patient instructions for tests, procedures, and health information.
• Coordinate test and procedure results with providers.
• Prepare refill information for provider review and prescribing.
• Assist with patient transportation.

Contribute to a safe environment:

• Report risks or malfunctions.
• Use equipment following policies and manufacturer instructions.
• Follow all policies and procedures for patient care.
• Maintain inventory and cleanliness of exam and supply rooms.
• Report acute problems and changes in patient conditions.
• Apply safety principles in all interactions.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

• Must be 18+ with relevant education/experience.
• Non-Certified applicants with <6 months of MA experience must have completed an accredited program with externship.

Preferred:

• Previous MA experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Licenses/Certifications:

• At least ONE of the following:
• Current BLS from AHA or Red Cross.
• In-house BLS training within 30 days of hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.

Physical Demands

• Medium work: lifting up to 32 lbs occasionally, 25 lbs frequently.

Sign-on bonus of $2,000 (terms apply). This is a part-time role (0.8 FTE, 64 hours per pay period), with day shifts between 7am-5pm, no weekends or major holidays. May float to other East Metro Women’s Health clinics. Eligible for float pay and mileage reimbursement.

Pay Range

$21.55 - $29.35 per hour, based on experience and other factors. Shift differentials may apply.
