Job summary

Harbor Health Services seeks a Medical Assistant for the Harbor Community Health Center in Hyannis. The role supports providers by gathering patient data, recording vitals, processing simple lab tests, and assisting with procedures.

The position is 34 hours per week with a starting wage of $23.00 per hour and a $1,000 sign-on bonus. Harbor Health offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life, disability, a 403b, ample PTO and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred or acceptable substitution.
• Current BLS Certification required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish, English/Vietnamese, or English/Portuguese preferred based on need.
• Basic computer skills including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience using EPIC EMR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for visits by recording vital signs and history.
• Collect data on health, medications, allergies; document in EMR.
• Perform Point of Care tests (e.g., urine dip) and basic screenings.
• Assist providers during procedures and with nurse follow-up tasks.
• Maintain exam rooms, inventory, and equipment sanitation.
• Enroll patients in portal and respond to messages as needed.
• Support in training new staff and quality improvement efforts.
