Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis Critical Care Medicine Fellowship is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers with direct and indirect patient care in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner.

The MA will assist with clinical procedures, documentation, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth daily operations. The role requires high school completion with MA Clinic Academy training; advancement to Advanced Medical Assistant will require completing the specified competencies.

Qualifications

• New hire must attend MA Clinic Academy training.

Minimum Qualifications

Certification(s):

BLS (Basic Life Support)

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Experience: One year of applicable patient care experience in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting.

Work Environment

• Outpatient clinical setting with frequent patient interaction.
• Requires standing, walking, lifting, and use of clinical equipment.
• Potential exposure to infectious materials; PPE provided.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
