Job summary

ENT & Allergy Associates is seeking a self-motivated Medical Assistant for our West Side office in New York. This full-time role offers hourly pay of $23/hr and a schedule that supports a fast-paced healthcare environment.

You will support patient care during examinations, manage records, and assist with lab work, while maintaining confidentiality and delivering quality service to patients.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program is required, CMA/RMA preferred.
• Alternative: biology degree or EMT cert or 5 years MA experience.
• NextGen experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients by greeting them in person or by phone and answers inquiries.
• Prepares patients for appointments by directing them to the examining room.
• Verifies patient information and medical history.
• Assists providers during examinations and prepares lab specimens.
• Performs basic laboratory tests and processes prescriptions to pharmacies.
• Educates patients with medication instructions and questions.
• Records patient examination, treatment, and test results.
• Keeps inventory and maintains equipment.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.

ENT and Allergy Associates, New York & New Jersey’s premier ENT and Allergy medical practice, is seeking a self-motivated, people-friendly full time Medical Assistant for our West Side office.

Hourly: $23/hr

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
• Prepares patients for their appointment by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room
• Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.
• Supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests on the premises; disposing of contaminated supplies; sterilizing medical instruments; and telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies.
• Educates patients by providing medication and instructions; answering questions.
• Completes records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results.
• Keeps inventory of supplies.
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance.
• Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential.

Job Requirements

• Previous experience is a plus
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program is required, with preference given to candidates holding certifications such as CMA or RMA. Alternatively, candidates with any of the following qualifications will be considered: Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Emergency Medical Technician certification or Five years of continuous experience working as a Medical Assistant.

Schedule

• Monday-Friday: 8:30am-5:00pm

OR

• Monday: 8:30am-5:00pm
• Tuesday: 8:30am-6:00pm
• Wednesday: 8:30am-4:30pm
• Thursday: 8:30am-5:00pm
• Friday: 8:30am-4:30pm
• Saturday (1-2 per month): 8:00am-12:00pm
