Job summary

Aiken Physicians Alliance, affiliated with Aiken Regional Medical Centers, seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a multi-specialty outpatient setting. You will interview patients, measure vital signs, perform venipuncture and assist in examinations under physician direction.

Documentation in the Electronic Medical Record, front desk coverage, and a commitment to compassionate, professional care are required.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required.
  • Work experience: Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion and/or one year experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology required.
  • Experience with patient check-in and check-out process (clinic protocol).
  • Knowledge: General medical office procedures.
  • Understand end of day cash balancing and charge reconciliation (clinic protocol).
  • Skills: Proficiency in basic computer programs and Office.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews patients, measures vital signs (pulse, temperature, BP, weight, height).
  • Venipuncture and procedures as directed by physician within scope of practice.
  • Documentation in Electronic Medical Record per IPM guidelines.
  • Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
  • Assists in coverage of the front desk as required.
