Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, or a related field preferred.
• 1 year of experience in a healthcare or clinical setting, preferably patient-facing.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and health insurance processes.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and documenting clinical information in the EMR.
• Assist providers during examinations, treatments, and minor procedures to ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Administer medications, injections, immunizations, EKGs, and specimen collection per policy.
• Coordinate labs, referrals, prescriptions, and patient follow-up to ensure continuity of care.
• Educate patients on medications, preventive care, and instructions with professionalism and empathy.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms while following infection control and HIPAA standards.
• Document encounters and orders accurately to support quality care and reimbursement.
• Collaborate with staff to promote efficient patient flow and value-based care initiatives.
