Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Tucumcari, NM is seeking a Medical Assistant to deliver patient care, prepare patients for visits, assist with exams, and support care coordination through scheduling, referrals, prior authorizations, and EMR documentation.

You will administer medications within your scope, maintain infection prevention standards, and collaborate with providers to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Six months of Medical Assistant experience or successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program required.
  • Presbyterian Medical Assistant Advanced Skills Training required within 90 days of hire.
  • Current BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for visits, collect clinical information, and assist providers with exams and procedures.
  • Perform Medical Assistant duties within scope of practice, including administering medications, collecting specimens, and providing patient education.
  • Support clinic operations by maintaining exam rooms, managing supplies, and following infection prevention standards.
  • Assist with scheduling, referrals, prior authorizations, patient communications, and electronic medical record documentation.
  • Collaborate with providers and the care team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting quality and service initiatives.
