Job summary

New York Health (NYH) in Astoria, NY is hiring a Medical Assistant - Urology. You will support urology clinics with patient prep, vitals, and data entry, ensuring smooth visits and accurate charting.

The role requires a High School Diploma, EMR familiarity, ability to lift 50 pounds, and reliable transport to NYH locations. Shift schedule is 5/8.5 hour days, Mon-Fri. Experience with EKGs and point-of-care testing is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Proficiency with an EMR system (preferred).
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching.
• Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs.

Responsibilities

• Record patients' vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examinations.
• Sterilize medical equipment and instruments.
• Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process.

• Other duties as assigned.
