Job summary

New York Health (NYH) is seeking a Medical Assistant/Scribe for its Urology practice in Jackson Heights, NY. The role supports patient intake, examinations, and procedures in a fast-paced clinic setting.

Responsibilities include collecting specimens, recording vitals, assisting physicians, performing EKGs, and handling data entry. Requires MA certificate and HS diploma; bilingual English/Spanish is required; EMR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is required or strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with an EMR system is preferred.

Job Description: Medical Assistant/Scribe (Urology Practice)

Location: Jackson Heights, NY

Hours/Days: 4/10 hr shifts; Mon - Thu RDO Fri (7:30a-6:30p)

Organization: New York Health (NYH) - Urology

In this role, you will:

• Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording.
• Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests.
• Record patients' vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examinations.
• Sterilize medical equipment and instruments.
• Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process.
• Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures.
• Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing.
• Other duties as assigned.

We require:

• A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred)
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
• Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
• Must be able to float to our Brooklyn and Staten island urology locations
