Job summary

Scripps Clinic Rancho Bernardo is hiring two full-time Medical Assistants. The roles include back-office and front-office duties, with shifts 6:45am-3:45pm or 7:15am-4:15pm, Monday through Friday and occasional Saturday mornings. Join a team focused on quality patient care in a fast-paced clinic.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, vitals, assisting with procedures, EMR documentation, and scheduling. Completion of MA program or certification and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program or hold a Medical Assistant Certification.
• BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Military corpsman experience counts toward qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Primarily back-office duties with some front-office support.
• Room patients, check vitals, assist with procedures.
• Clinic prep and adherence to provider protocols.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
• Document patient information in the EMR for physician review.
• Schedule appointments and procedures.
• Relay physician instructions to patients or guardians.
• Enter orders and pre-certifications as needed.
• Set up cases in EPIC and update demographics.

We currently have two full-time benefitted positions available at Scripps Clinic Rancho Bernardo. These positions follow an 8-hour day shift schedule, working Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts from 8:00am to 12:00pm. This position includes both front office (clerical) and back office (clinical) Medical Assistant job duties.

The two available shifts are:

• 6:45am - 3:45pm
• 7:15am - 4:15pm

What you'll do:

• Predominantly back-office responsibilities but is expected to help with front-office duties
• Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
• Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practice
• Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
• Collecting patient data in person and by phone
• Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
• Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
• Scheduling of appointments and procedures
• Complete and accurate message taking
• Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
• Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
• Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
• BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 or more years of experience working as Medical Assistant
• Primary Care, Family Practice, Pediatric experience
