Our Community Services teams create and sustain relationships with community organizations and agencies and health plans. Job Summary

Responsible for the smooth function of patient flow and all aspects of patient care by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities
  1. Greets and registers patients.
  2. Fulfills clerical responsibilities, including insurance eligibility, obtaining diagnostic reports, and patient demographics.
  3. Ensures all incoming/outgoing referrals are booked and addressed accordingly.
  4. Answers phones, responds to inquiries, and triages calls to appropriate personnel.
  5. Checks on all incoming faxes and distributes accordingly.
  6. Makes courtesy calls and appointment confirmations for office/Urgent Care patients.
  7. Reschedules no-show appointments.
  8. Inputs patient data into EMR system.
  9. Fulfills patient care responsibilities, including taking vital signs, updating patient history, collecting blood, urine, and stool specimens, and assisting providers/nurses in the exam room.
  10. Monitors and ensures clinical and clerical equipment is functioning properly and escalates issues to supervisor.
  11. Responsible for learning the use of all current and future equipment used for patient assessment and diagnosing.
  12. Checks dates on materials and medications for expiration and discards expired items.
  13. Completes weekly and monthly inventory for all supplies, medical and office.
  14. Ensures labs are transmitted accurately and received in a timely manner.
  15. Monitors temperature of refrigerator for all vaccines, VFC and private purchases.
  16. Stays up to date with new providers and specialists joining or leaving the practice and remains compliant and informed of any and all Policies and Procedures.
  17. Must attend monthly Staff Symposiums.
  18. Collects copays and deductibles accordingly and documents accurately.
  19. Ensures closing of all daily copays at the end of the day.
  20. Submits daily billing.
  21. Maintains a sterile work environment.
  22. Ensures standard infection control precautions are observed.
Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or less than one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three months experience in a clinical setting. One year education in the medical field. Knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and internet software. Specialized Training: CPR, HIPAA, OSHA, MA Certificate, CLIA Training.
