Schedule: Full Time

Shift: Rotating schedule, two days on, two days off (Monday-Thursday 8am-8pm), split Fridays (usually 8am-2pm or 2pm-8pm), alternate weekends (8am-5pm), and some holidays

Location: Polk County (Haines City, Lakeland, Winter Haven)

Role Responsibilities:

The Medical Assistant reports to the Practice Manager and works under the supervision of Providers. Responsibilities include patient care, performing various patient activities, adhering to guidelines for quality and safety, maintaining organization, facilitating patient flow, and providing outstanding customer service.

• Enhance the patient experience through excellent customer service
• Accurately document procedures and assessments
• Assess patients during clinical check-in, document medical info and vital signs, and identify signs of abuse or neglect
• Administer treatments, medications, and follow-up assessments as ordered
• Perform diagnostic tests (EKG, spirometry, audiometry, etc.) and forensic testing in compliance with regulations

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with externship or 1+ year relevant experience, or 6 months within an AdventHealth facility
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA
• CPR certification
• Maintain BAT and Drug Screen certifications
• Current certification from recognized certifying bodies (list provided)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Urgent care or Emergency Department experience
