Job summary

Swedish Health Services, DBA Swedish Medical Group, seeks an MA II to assist in patient care under a licensed practitioner. This role expands MA I responsibilities and requires competency in clinical duties in the assigned clinic, following policy and regulatory guidelines.

The position requires WA MA certification at hire, BLS within 30 days, and several years of healthcare or MA experience. Growth opportunities exist within Providence Swedish’s patient-centered care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with hands-on clinical training.
• Graduate of MA apprenticeship program or equivalent.
• Completed two years of medical training in the U.S. Armed Forces.
• Minimum one year of MA experience including vital signs, injections, and medication administration.
• Washington Medical Assistant Certification required at hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• At least 6 months healthcare experience.
• At least 6 months medical assistant experience.

Job description

The MA II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. The MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants or,
• Coursework/Training:Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program or,
• Coursework/Training:Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces or,
• Coursework/Training:Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration
• Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification
• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• 6 months Healthcare experience.
• 6 months Medical Assistant experience.
