Job summary

Providence Swedish Health Services is hiring an MA II to support licensed practitioners and assist in delivering patient care across the clinic. You’ll perform duties under established policies and remain fully competent in clinical needs for the assigned location.

Ideal candidates will have an accredited medical assistant program, WA MA certification upon hire, BLS within 30 days, and at least 6 months healthcare experience with vital signs, injections, and medication administration.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants.
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program or equivalent.
• Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces.
• Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant including vital signs, injections, and medication administration.
• Washington Medical Assistant Certification on hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• 6 months healthcare experience.
• 6 months medical assistant experience.

Job description

The MA II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. The MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants or,
• Coursework/Training:Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program or,
• Coursework/Training:Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces or,
• Coursework/Training:Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration
• Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification
• within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• 6 months Healthcare experience.
• 6 months Medical Assistant experience.
