PHC is seeking a Medical Assistant or Medical Assistant Trainee for the East Side Clinic in Des Moines, IA. This full-time role supports clinical and administrative tasks, collaborates with the care team, and ensures patient safety and infection control.

Responsibilities include exam preparation, rooming and vital signs, EHR documentation, and assistance with procedures. BLS certification and state-required trainings are required within 90 days.

Competenze

• Post-secondary diploma, certificate, or Associate degree in Medical Assisting or high school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Must be obtained within 90 days of employment: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
• Mandatory Reporter Training for Child Abuse and Dependent Adult Abuse recognized by the State of Iowa.

Mansioni

• Collaborates with assigned Patient Care Team to provide needed healthcare in a clinic setting.
• Prepares for exam/procedure and assists provider; facilitates patient rooming and vital signs collection.
• Documents patient care in the electronic health record and processes prior authorizations and referrals.
• Performs point-of-care testing per CLIA guidelines and administers medications and immunizations.
