Job summary

The Wellness Center at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team. The role supports patient intake, clinical procedures, immunizations, and administrative duties to ensure safe, efficient, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant, or the ability to obtain the required certification within 30 days of hire.
• Experience performing medical assisting functions including patient intake, clinical procedures, specimen collection, injections, immunizations, and CLIA waived testing is required.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients and complete required patient intake activities prior to medical provider evaluation.
• Obtain and document vital signs and health information.
• Triage acute and routine care and walk-in requests.
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures within scope.
• Respond to medical emergencies and support providers until EMS arrives.
• Communicate with patients about follow-up, appointments, and health care needs.
• Maintain a professional, patient-centered approach with students and patients.
