Job summary

Jax Spine and Pain Centers is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support physicians with patient care, clinical procedures, and administrative tasks in a fast-paced clinic. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vitals, assisting with procedures, injections, EKGs, EMR documentation, referrals, and patient education.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, CPR/BLS certification, strong communication and confidentiality, and proficiency with EMR systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, medication lists, and chief complaints.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Assist providers during patient visits and minor office procedures.
• Administer injections and medications as directed and within scope of practice.
• Perform EKGs, specimen collection, and other clinical duties as assigned.
• Document patient information accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and follow-up appointments as needed.
• Provide patient education regarding medications, procedures, and treatment plans.
• Maintain exam rooms, clinical supplies, and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and safety standards.
• Assist with inventory management and supply ordering.
• Collaborate with providers and team members to promote efficient patient flow and quality care.
