Job description

Hourly Pay Range: $19.89 - $28.84. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position: Medical Assistant, Specialty, GI

Position Highlights:

  • Location: 2101 S Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL
  • Full Time: 40 hours/week
  • Hours: Varying hours - Monday to Friday (7:15am - 7pm)

What you will do:

Reporting to the Practice Manager and accountable to the Clinical Supervisor, the Medical Assistant serves as the primary assistant to the medical provider by performing routine clinical tasks and direct patient care under supervision. Responsibilities include facilitating patient throughput, clinical testing, and follow-up activities.

  • Assist the provider in patient care activities, maintain exam and treatment rooms, and stock supplies. Escort patients, collect and document patient data, observe and respond to patient needs, and prepare patients for examinations.
  • Review and update patient records, coordinate tests and treatments, and assist with scheduling and referrals as needed.
  • Perform clinical duties such as taking vital signs, injections, immunizations, and supporting minor procedures. Perform venipunctures, Point of Care testing, EKGs, suture removal, and dressing changes.
  • Handle clerical tasks including answering phones, managing records, scheduling, and coordinating patient care through triage and follow-up.

What you will need:

  • Education: Preferred current certification from a national Medical Assistant certification body or obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • Certification: BLS/CPR for Healthcare Providers required.
  • Experience: Working knowledge of clinical equipment and materials.
