Job Summary

Medical Assistants perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to support the smooth operation of physicians' offices. Responsibilities include administrative duties and clinical tasks in accordance with state law and clinic requirements.

Essential Functions

• Prepare patients for office visits.
• Assist physicians with medical procedures.
• Administer medications, including injections, and document accordingly.
• Follow nursing policies and procedures when documenting patient information.
• Maintain office integrity and cleanliness.
• Perform specialty-specific duties and acquire additional licenses or credentials as needed.
• Stay updated with new policies, procedures, and certifications, including CPR.

Requirements

Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or at least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience within the last 2 years. Medical Assistant Certification required within 90 days of employment. Current BLS certification or to be obtained within first 90 days.

Preferred: Experience or training in a medical healthcare facility as a Medical Assistant.
