Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Medical Assistant to join the Erie clinical team. Under supervision, you will assist in coordinating examination, treatment and care planning while supporting office operations.

You will prepare and room patients, obtain vitals, review medications in the EHR, assist with procedures, and perform back office testing. Some travel between AHN locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High School / GED or completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Certification requirements: Certified within 120 days if not certified at hire.
• CPR certification is required by AHN.
• Background checks include Act 34/33/73 and related requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients, obtain vitals, document patient information and medication history in the EHR.
• Perform back office testing following AHN protocols and assist with examinations and procedures.
• May serve as a scribe with additional training and may travel between AHN locations.
