Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, through WellMed, seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinical teams in patient care. The MA will perform duties such as specimen collection, EKGs, and wound care under supervision, while ensuring patient safety and privacy are maintained.

The role requires an MA certification or progress toward it, BLS, and strong communication with patients and staff. Compensation includes a $1,500 sign-on for external candidates and benefits outlined in the posting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• National Medical Assistant certification or ability to obtain within 180 days.
• Current BLS certification at hire or within 30 days.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Basic computer literacy with Excel.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• TB screening and immunization proof required.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties within Medical Assistant scope and assist providers.
• Record patient care documentation accurately and timely.
• Prepare exam/treatment rooms and sterilize instruments.
• Assist with patient intake, vitals, and specimen collection.
• Support care coordination and adhere to privacy policies.
