Job summary

Optum NY, part of UnitedHealth Group, seeks a Medical Assistant in Jefferson Valley, NY. The role involves direct patient care, clinical support to physicians, and coordination of care using EPIC. A $3,000 sign-on bonus applies for external candidates and a structured schedule is provided.

Hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8am-4pm, and Tue/Thu 8am-5pm. Minimum HS diploma or GED with MA certification/experience required; CPR/BLS preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience or MA certification from NAHP/NCCT/AAMA/AMT/NHA.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred).
• Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with clinical procedures and patient care.
• Perform vital signs, vision screening, and basic lab procedures.
• Prepare and process e-prescriptions for pharmacies as directed.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Document patient information and orders in EPIC.
